What you’ll learn
Pre-threat Cues & Boundary-Setting
Recognises early signs of aggression or discomfort to prevent escalation. Use clear verbal and physical boundaries to assert personal space and communicate non-tolerance for unwanted contact or behavior.
Striking for Disengagement (Palms, Elbows, Low-Line Kicks)
Focus on strikes designed to create an opportunity to escape rather than to engage in prolonged conflict. Use palm strikes, elbow strikes, and low-line kicks targeting vulnerable areas to disable or distract an attacker.
Ground Survival to Stand & Exit
Develop strategies to protect yourself when taken to the ground, maintain awareness, and create openings to safely return to your feet and exit the situation.
Using Environment & Improvised Tools
Employ objects in your surroundings as defensive aids, converting everyday items into tools for distraction, blocking, enhancing your ability to protect yourself.
Post-Incident Actions (Medical, Reporting, Evidence)
After an encounter, prioritize medical treatment for injuries, document the incident thoroughly, report to appropriate authorities, and preserve any evidence that may be critical for legal purposes or personal safety.
